Criminal History Disclosure
The Adopter or Foster Carer must disclose in writing any prior criminal convictions or pending charges at the time of application, particularly in relation to animal cruelty. GAP reserves the right to refuse the adoption based on the nature of the disclosed criminal history, particularly where it may impact the welfare of the Greyhound or compliance with any applicable laws.
You do not need to disclose convictions that are spent under applicable law.
Please note that if you answer “Yes,” GAP will contact you to discuss the nature of the offence and seek your consent to undertake a criminal record check. GAP reserves the right to refuse the adoption where the offence involves violence (sexual assault, assault, domestic violence, manslaughter, murder) or animal cruelty, or where it may impact the welfare of the Greyhound or compliance with applicable laws.
If you do not provide the requested information, GAP may be unable to assess your application.
All information provided will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and used solely for the purpose of assessing your suitability for adoption.
